Shine social network shortlisted for BIMA Award

Just got back from the Nominet Trust launch (http://www.nominettrust.org.uk) where Martha Lane Fox, Martyn Lewis and Jonathan Welfare spoke some inspiring words about the work they have already done in a short space of time and the formidable plans for the future. (Thanks to Steve from Policy Unplugged (http://www.policyunplugged.org) for asking us along!). It would be great to work more with the Nominet Trust in the future and do some more Drupal for Good - we will have to come up with some ideas as to how we can apply bespoke social networking sites to the core objectives of making the Internet a better place and changing people's lives for the better... Anyway, on return from that event I was delighted to receive an email from Hattie saying that the Shine 2009 social networking web site has been shortlisted for the 2009 BIMA Awards! http://www.bimaawards.com/shortlist/#sm1 http://www.bimaawards.com/categories/community/ Shine 2009 is in the Social Media / Community Platform category. There is some stiff competition within our category but it is an honour just to be listed on the same page as AKQA, Tribal DDB, Reading Room and other top digital agencies. More about the BIMA awards is available here: http://www.bimaawards.com/ We must give credit to the Shine project partners without whom Shine would not exist: the Talent & Enterprise Taskforce and the Department of Children, Schools and Families (http://www.dcsf.gov.uk) - thanks Lucy and Lucy; Creativity, Culture and Education (http://www.creativitycultureeducation.org) - thanks Carol, Rose, Phil, Laura ,Wyl et al.; Red PR (http://www.redconsultancy.com) - thanks Georgie, Lydia, Sarah, Emily and all of the very dedicated team at RED; and thanks to the partners, organisations, schools and individuals who were involved in Shine 2008 and 2009.
