BrightLemon is currently developing a new social network The Urban Gateway which will be an online knowledge portal wherein UN-HABITAT staff, its external partners and other organisations concerned with urban development may source practical knowledge on urban development issues, and network amongst each other to reach knowledgeable experts for further information and guidance.
In partnership with The Global Urbanist – an online news site for analysing urban affairs – BrightLemon will develop an online repository of practical knowledge and enable communication between all organisations and partners involved.
The main objectives of the site will include:
- Creating an online repository of practical knowledge concerning urban development in developing countries.
- Creating a first-port-of-call website for questions about urban development in developing countries, especially for UN-HABITAT and its external partner organisations.
- Facilitate peer-to-peer exchange and networking for individuals working for UN-HABITAT and its partners.
- Create opportunities for job/event listings, etc., and advertising, to raise revenue for the ongoing development of the website
The Urban Gateway is due for launch later this month.
