Full time Senior Developer (PHP, Drupal, LAMP)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Developer who is an excellent communicator: comfortable with leading a development team, persuasive and collaborative when presenting ideas to clients, and able to support senior staff with longer term strategy. You’ll be a fan of open standards, open source and using best practice tools and processes to work effectively and efficiently.
This is a full time position based in Old Street, London.
We need somebody who is energetic, and enthusiastic and loves making good digital products using open source technology. You need to be the sort of person who is ultra reliable and responsible and lead the development team by example.
You will be called upon to communicate with senior stakeholders from some of the largest organisations in the UK, and further afield. You therefore need to be calm under pressure, logical, and an all-round excellent communicator. You will inspire both developers and CxO level stakeholders alike with your clarity of vision.
Ultimately our goal is to make a positive impact on society and you need to share our values and those of our clients.
About the role
The role is a senior member of the team interacting with senior stakeholders at FTSE 100, central government and large third sector organisations. Experience in communicating and handling the pressure of working with senior stakeholders is essential. You’ll therefore need 3 to 5 years experience demonstrating these skills in a similar environment.
Day-to-day our Senior Developer role is split into three main areas:
From supporting sales with the requirements analysis of a brief to supporting project management by turning a project into user stories - the Senior Developer will be called upon to lead the direction of development and ensure solutions are appropriate, cost effective and timely.
As leader of the development team you’ll be involved in pitches and presentations to both new clients and existing ones. You’ll bridge the gap between high level organisational strategy and technical details. Building and developing client relationships will be key.
Unsurprisingly, you will also be required to help the development team build solutions. This will also entail helping to plan out code standards, environments and suggesting and communicating best practice for the entire team.
BrightLemon’s mission is to create intelligent collaborative software that has a positive impact on society. With a current focus on (lifelong) education, central government and membership organisations our clients include the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Pearson, Department for Education, Cambridge University, Civil Service Resourcing and the British Council.
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 per annum dependent on ability and experience.
