About us

BrightLemon™ London build large social networks which grow and connect communities of like-minded people.

Why build an online community?

A large group of individuals all connected by an interest in your product, brand or cause enables your organisation to leverage the full power of the social web.

Benefits include:

  • targeted global outreach
  • personalised customer experience & service
  • crowd sourcing & collaboration

Unlike the use of large social networks, you own all the data and your network is relevant and targeted.

BrightLemon™ create and maintain online communities and social web applications for clients such as the British Council, Department for Children, Schools & Families, Amnesty International and Plan International. Our networks represent over 1,125,000 users in 18 countries and have been featured in the finals of both the BIMA and BETT Awards.

We have delivered highly successful social networking and online community projects for the Department for Education (Department for Children, Schools and Families), the British Council and Plan International. We work primarily within the Education and Charity sector but that is closely followed by our work with Corporate clients and Agencies. We have successfully:

  • built a new community of 2,500 schools representing over 1,000,000 students in under 3 months. Read more about Shine week>>
  • built a new community of 110,000 users from scratch. Read more about English Online >>
  • developed a wide range of web 2.0 and online community functionality, mobile version, widgets and more....

Our process

Our process involves elements of Agile and Scrum but retains some of the more traditional reporting and planning elements many of our clients require:

  • Strategic planning and requirements definition
  • User centric design - user stories, user types, personas and use cases
  • Visual planning - paper wireframes, card sorting and digital wireframes
  • Sprint cycles and releases

In conjuction with Agile, we still provide formal documentation at key stages of the project.

Our Ethos

Our goal is to contribute to making the Web a better place. We like to collaborate with people who share that goal. We work primarily with Educational and Charitable organisations (and Corporates) to build social networks and online communities. We do not work on Adult or Gaming web sites.

Press coverage

Our work has won, been shortlisted and reached the finals for multiple awards and been featured on television, radio and in the national press. (Thanks to RED Consultancy for their amazing PR work on Shine).
